For Detroit Maker Faire this year we wanted to create an eye-catching, interactive project that would get attention. We decided on a large-scale version of Operation. So, without further ado, here’s how it came together.
It all started out with a scan and large format print at the finished scale. After painting the base yellow color, the plot was taped down to the plywood:
Next, the non-person white bit gets cut away:
Then, we traced the outline, cut out the openings for the pieces and painted the background color of the operation dude. Details, text and icons will come later after we’re done mucking up the base paint with tools and can give everything a second coat of paint.
